Hello,
So I was doing so split jerk overhead presses and when I got to the last rep I dropped the barbell from the overhead position to the floor. It only had 35lbs on each side and they were bumper plates. But the moment the barbell hit the floor it snapped into two from one of edges where the plate was fixed. I was pretty embarrassed and notified the front desk. Did I break the barbell? Is it not advisable to drop barbells because I see people doing it all the time on fitness videos and also at my gym? Is there a special way to guide the barbell while dropping it?
I didn't find the right solution from the internet.
