Quickly because I have to walk out the door soon, they moved up the Atlas Stones an hour... so gotta get over there soon.
I can't remember everything that occured in the Axle Press, and where everyone stands... but I will give what I know.
Not sure how many reps Oli put up, it was a good number though. Maybe 8 or 9. Then Richard Skog comes out and Johannes Arsjo... Johannes is very aggressive and gets a good lead, but starts tiring and Skog catches up... they have to check the tapes to make sure, but Skog squeeks in one last rep to tie up with Arsjo.... 7 reps each I believe. Tobias Ide scored lowest in the event. Sebastian Wenta and Phil Pfister go head to head and tie up with 9 reps, and I think that was the best number in the heat... so Oli must've gotten 8... but I don't know, maybe he did better, someone else will have to find that out.
Kevin and Terry battle next, and Kevin just starts ripping through the reps... it was very impressive. Kevin gets to the 7th rep and starts asking for the time and gets out of tempo... Terry stops at 6 reps...don't know why... he had more in him. Kevin continues on and winds up with 9 reps... but he had more in him, probably 11 or 12... but the time he wasted trying to find out the time prevented him from getting more reps. This left open an opportunity for Tarmo Mitt to reduce Kevin's points, and sure enough, Tarmo goes out and throws up 9 reps for the tie with Kevin and they share points. Can't recall the rest of the group right now. But Kevin and Terry have a dog fight ahead of them and Kevin will have to overcome the nerves about his bicep in order to rip through the stones.
Mariusz takes the best axle performance of the day with 11 reps, quote easily too. Siders and LP Jean each throw up 10 reps in a great display of strength, stamina, and heart. LP is just an animal in so many ways, and very young too, Arild also, and he put up a good 9 reps, he was favoring his left arm.... Arild and LP Jean will be battling alongside Derek, Travis, Arild.. and all the young guys for years to come. Hopefully that list includes Mikhail Koklyaev someday at the WSM... but anyways, back to the update. Brian Shaw got 6 reps... not sure what happened with his performance, but he struggled from the first rep.. and he just manages to match his MSG performance of 6 reps. Brian tried one last rep at the final 10 seconds, but wasn't able to finish in time. I think that puts Arild back in 2nd, and Brian and LP Jean needing a little luck in the stones event in order to qualify.
I'm out.. later, thanks for the nice thoughts.. I update to help out the Marundes and give back for all that Jesse built and gave to us...
